Case IH tractors are known worldwide for their durability and functionality, and, at Reubicon Tractor Parts, we can help you keep your Case IH tractor in top condition at all times. We offer a wide selection of affordable Case IH parts and filters, ideal for those who prefer to handle routine maintenance tasks themselves.

Handling these tasks on your own can help you save money and help prolong the life of your tractor. Many routine maintenance tasks and even some repairs can be handled fairly easily by tractor owners, including the following:

1. Checking and Changing Engine Oil

Regularly check the oil level and change it according to the manufacturer’s guidelines.

Replace the oil filter when changing the oil.

2. Inspecting & Replacing Air Filters

Check the engine air filter and clean or replace it if it’s clogged with dust and debris.

Inspect the cabin air filter if applicable.

3. Checking & Topping Off Fluids

Ensure proper levels of hydraulic fluid, coolant, and transmission fluid. Top off or replace fluids as needed.

4. Greasing Fittings & Lubricating Moving Parts

Use a grease gun to lubricate key points like steering linkages, loader pins, and axle bearings. It’s smart to check the owner’s manual for the recommended grease type and intervals.

5. Checking Tire Pressure & Condition

Inspect tires for wear, cracks, or punctures. Maintain the correct air pressure to ensure smooth operation and fuel efficiency.

6. Inspecting/Replacing Belts & Hoses

Check belts for wear, cracks, or slack and replace them if necessary. You also should inspect hydraulic hoses for leaks or damage.

7. Cleaning the Radiator & Cooling System

Remove dust, debris, and chaff from the radiator fins to prevent overheating. Flush and refill the cooling system according to service recommendations.

8. Inspecting & Replacing Fuel Filters

Drain water from the fuel filter if equipped with a water separator. Replace fuel filters at recommended intervals to prevent contamination.

9. Checking/Replacing Fuses & Lights

Inspect headlights, taillights, and work lights for any burnt-out bulbs. Replace blown fuses to ensure proper electrical function.

10. Cleaning Battery Terminals & Checking Charge

Clean corrosion off battery terminals with a wire brush. Check the battery charge and replace it if it struggles to hold power.

11. Inspecting and Adjusting the PTO (Power Take-Off) Shaft

Ensure the PTO shaft is in good condition and free from excessive wear. You also will need to grease PTO components as needed.

12. Keeping the Tractor Clean

Wash off dirt, grease, and debris to prevent buildup that can cause mechanical issues. Store the tractor in a dry, covered space to reduce exposure to the elements.

In general, we recommend the following maintenance schedule for your tractor:
